To understand geotechnical engineering, there is a need for hands-on activities in order to conceptually understand soil as an engineering property. It is difficult for students to gain equitable exposure to physical, hands-on, components of geotechnical engineering when the pedagogy is virtual or distanced. Therefore, this project was designed to address the lack of a physical component for online geotechnical learners. The project consists of experiments designed to be performed from anywhere using common household materials to comprehend fundamental geotechnical engineering concepts.
